Sailor's Math!

This is neat - and only takes a minute.
Work this out as you read.
Don't cheat by scrolling down first!

  1. First, pick the number of days a week
that you would like to be out sailing.
  2. Multiply this number by 2.
  3. Add 5.
  4. Multiply by 50.
  5. If you have already had your birthday this year, add 1758.
       If you haven't Add 1757.
  6. Last step:
Subtract the four digit year that you were born.

RESULTS:

You should now have a three digit number.

The first digit is your original number
        - how many times you want to go sailing in a week.

The second two digits are your age!

Enjoy and share it with others.

Hint: This version will only work during the year 2008. For each year
after 2008, you must add +1 to 1758 and 1757 in step 5 above.
