What to Pack for a Boating Holiday
- Travel documents: Passport or birth certificate/Driver's license; health card
- Money: Traveller's Checks, Credit Card, Debit Card, cash
- Charts, guides, GPS (only if you know how rocks look on charts)
- Ice cooler, ice (even with a fridge)
- Bottled water, food & drink, emergency cans!
- Towels, bedding, pillows
- Radio (news, weather)
- Flashlight, batteries
- Binoculars
- Any other supplies, utensils and tools not already on board
- First-aid: bite/burn cream, bandaids, antacid, anti-diarrhea, etc.
- Prescription medicines (copy of prescription)
- Insect repellant
- Sunscreen (30+ SPF)
- Eyeglasses (copy of prescription)
- Sunglasses
- Camera
- Book, magazine, notebook, pen/pencil
- Toothbrush, shampoo, razor, comb, etc.
- Backpack (hiking, shopping)
- Clothing:
- shoes with non-slip soles, hiking shoes
- sun hat
- long-sleeve shirt, pants, socks (sun, bugs)
- shorts, Ts, blouses (hot-weather)
- bathing suit (St. Lawrence warms up end of June)
- sweater, sweat-shirt, jacket (cold)
- raincoat, umbrella (rain)
- pyjamas
- clothes for evenings ashore (optional)
- Most important, since it won't be like at home - a relaxed attitude!
